Barbecue to support historic preservation

The Middlesex County Museum & Historical Society will partner with The Friends of Urbanna, who support the Urbanna Scottish Factor Store Museum, to host a barbecue to help fund the preservation, collection, education and sharing of local history.

The event will be held from 1-5 p.m., November 14, at the barn being restored at Rosegill, 1824 Urbanna Road, Urbanna. Clayton Neal will play music from 1-3 p.m.

The Middlesex County Museum was funded by the Public Works Administration (WPA), a part of the federal program called “The New Deal” in 1935, and is the oldest county museum in Virginia, reported Marilyn South.
