Belle Isle State Park to offer family adventure

A park visitor decorates a hiking stick.

Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster, will host special programming on Saturday, September 12, starting at 9 a.m. in honor of Girl Scouts Love State Parks.

Participants will have an opportunity to explore an area of the park that is rarely visited by other guests and join in a citizen science project, reported park manager Katie Shepard. While there, they can help identify and count meadow species like native butterflies and non-native plants.
