Best of the Rivah awards announced

The 2022 Best of The Rivah contest winners were announced in the August edition of The Rivah Visitor’s Guide.

In its seventh year, the contest, among readers of The Rivah, continues to grow in popularity and voter submissions, according to publications coordinator Susan Simmons.

Middlesex County’s Steamboat Restaurant and Norman’s Produce, along with Mathews County’s Hole in the Wall were multiple first-place winners in the food and beverage categories. Steamboat was voted first for fried oysters and coldest beer. According to voters, Norman’s serves up the best ice cream and is the best fresh produce market.

Hole in the Wall was chosen first in waterfront dining and first for best cocktail, while gathering several other awards.
