Bon Secours RGH presents the Power of Pink

Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital (RGH) hosted a Power of Pink event October 4 at Grace Episcopal Church in Kilmarnock.

This second annual breast cancer awareness event drew an audience of more than 80 attendees for an evening of community focused education, networking, refreshments and door prizes.

“The evening was such a great success in bringing together members of our community who have been touched in some way by breast cancer,” said Chris Shepperson, RGH imaging manager. “Creating a sense of togetherness for participants, while also sharing education and resources available locally, is a priority for us as a community health care provider.”

Featured speaker, Peter Van Geertruyden, MD, gave a presentation on the overall benefits of 3-D breast tomosynthesis and the benefits realized since RGH’s implementation of 3-D mammography earlier this year, thanks to the generosity and support of Seconds Unlimited Thrift Shop and RGH Foundation donations…
