Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck announces 2021 Knull Award recipients

KILMARNOCK—The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck (BGCNN) board of directors recently announced that Ed Fuehrer and Tracey Harding will receive the 2021 William H. Knull Jr. Award for their service to the community and decades of dedication to the youth of Lancaster and Northumberland counties, respectively.

The Knull Award is named for Capt. William H. Knull Jr., a founding director of BGCNN. The award is presented annually to individuals who have distinguished themselves by unselfish service to God, country and community while providing services for the betterment of youth. The award also serves to demonstrate that helping others is a behavior that is rewarding, highly valued and worthy of recognition.

In 2020, COVID-19 necessitated the cancellation of the annual Reach for the Stars Gala Fundraising Event where Knull Award winners are traditionally recognized. This year, a spike in cases has forced…
