The Youth Empowerment Success Strategies (Y.E.S.S.) will conduct a fundraising event from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Lancaster County government complex, 8311 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster.
Youth involved in the program will conduct a car wash, lemonade stand and bake sale organized by advocates and team leaders, reported Rev. Ulysses Turner, a Y.E.S.S. founder.
Y.E.S.S. is a collaborative community organization focused on empowering youth to have access to better choices and to make better decisions. Advocates provide encouragement, guidance, mentorship and leadership, according to Lakia Gaines, a Y.E.S.S. founder and an advocate in Lancaster.
