The Chesapeake Bay Garden Club (CBGC) reported success with its plant sale at the April 17 Heathsville Farmers Market.
The work began long before the sale, noted publicist Karen Luzuriaga. During the early days of April, members and some husbands went to the gardens of Helen Bell of Coles Point. Due to the weather, there were many alternate dates for digging and potting many of her beautiful plants.
Other members replanted plants from their own gardens for the sale, said Luzuriaga. In early March, seeds were planted in different homes.
