KILMARNOCK—The Lancaster school board meeting on May 8 included a number of items that signal another school year is coming to a close.
The last day for students was changed to May 26 in an effort to give teachers a couple of extra days to prepare for the move to the elementary school.
As another year comes to an end, superintendent Jessica Davis recognized this year’s retirees, Shauna McCranie, 11 years; Peggy Hendrickson, 22 years; Mallory Spence, 36 years; Jennifer Bershaw, 12 years; Joan Perry, four years; Diane Smith, 35 years; and Deborah Thomas, 43 years. Davis thanked them all for their service and told them to “enjoy your retirement. You’ve worked hard for it.”
