COVID-19 vaccination efforts continue

LANCASTER—As vaccination efforts are underway in the Commonwealth, the expansion of phase 1B greatly increased those eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

“For our area, the Three Rivers Health District is coordinating the vaccination effort. They began the difficult task of scheduling appointments and conducting vaccination clinics for those wanting to receive the vaccine,” said Lancaster County Emergency Services Chief Matthew Smith.

To assist the Three Rivers Health District, resource centers were established in the Middle Peninsula and the Northern Neck to answer questions that residents had and to collect information to place them on a list to receive an appointment to get the vaccine. Last week, those resource centers were rolled over into a large VDH Central call center that….
