
Concertmaster Moises Cunha will lead the string players of the Northern Neck Orchestra in its final concert of the season, “Song, Dance and Fantasies,” with the Chesapeake Chorale May 4 at the Lancaster Middle School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.
A pre-concert talk, hosted by conductor and music director Michael Repper, will begin at 6:45 p.m. and the concert will follow at 7:30 p.m.
While best known as the violinist who makes sure the orchestra is in tune before the conductor walks on stage and the performance begins, the concertmaster plays a key role in helping the string section play together as a cohesive unit, said Cunha, a native of Porto Alegre, Brazil.
