Here in Richmond, we are one week away from the conclusion of the 2019 General Assembly Session. The House of Delegates remains focused on doing the people’s work.
This year the General Assembly has considered over 1200 pieces of legislation. We passed over 400 bills this week and completed our work on the House budget.
Republicans in the House and Senate have agreed on the terms of a $1 billion tax relief package, the most significant tax relief plan in at least 15 years and the second largest tax cut in Virginia history. The total package will guarantee at least $976 million in tax relief, or about $400 for every family in the Commonwealth. The package is headed to the Governor’s desk for his signature.
