RICHMOND—The Virginia General Assembly on Friday, October 16, approved a new biennial budget.

Following the 60-day special session, lawmakers recessed pending the outcome of a political redistricting constitutional amendment question on the November 3 ballot, which may require further action.

The $135 billion budget passed the House, 63-35, and the Senate, 23-15. Northern Neck Del. Margaret Ransone and Sen. Ryan McDougle voted against the proposed budget.
