Tickets are now on sale for the Inflation-Busting Lottery, a fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of the Northumberland Public Library (NPL).
“Everyone has seen the effect inflation has had on their household expenses,” said Friends of NPL president Richard Becker. “Well, our library is struggling to cover the same rising prices.”
“We generally fundraise once a year for the library operating expenses and this year we will not make our annual appeal goal,” said library director Jane Blue. “I think everyone is struggling with the increase in prices. I am so appreciative of the Friends stepping in to cover programs and other expenses not in our general operating budget. This lottery is a great opportunity for us to fill that gap and serve our community as we planned.”
Tickets cost $100 each, and multiple beneficiaries are allowed. There is a $5,000 grand prize and six first prizes…..
