WARSAW—Travis Aaron Ball, who grew up in Northumberland County and is awaiting trial on a federal gun charge at the Northern Neck Regional Jail (NNRJ), has filed suit against the jail, alleging “a lack of safekeeping and rehabilitation,” according to documents filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
In 2018, Ball was sentenced to 36 years for the capital murder of Virginia State Police Special Agent Michael Walter and was housed at Wallens Ridge State Prison before being transferred to NNRJ in October 2019.
