Irvington take first steps to amend 2020-21 budget

IRVINGTON—The Irvington Town Council on October 8 held public hearings and first readings on resolutions related to fee rates, taxes and a proposed budget as it prepares to adopt an amended spending guide for fiscal year 2020-21.

A hearing on the new fee rate schedule ended quickly with no comments from the public. Under the proposed rates, zoning fees would increase from $35 to $100 and several new fees are proposed: Board of zoning appeals, $300; golf cart for individuals, $25; golf cart for commercial use, $200; conditional use permits, $200. The town would continue to charge $200 for precious metals dealer registration, $20 for sign permits and $200 plus $30 per lot for subdivisions. The town would also continue to double the fee of anyone who applies for a permit after the fact.
