IRVINGTON—The Irvington Town Council on Thursday, February 25, had difficulty reaching a consensus regarding what constitutes a COVID-19-related expense.
Initiating a roundtable discussion, Mayor Albert “Tripp” Bugg asked council to determine if CARES Act funds should be used towards the development of the North Commons as the site of the new town office.
Despite previously hiring Bay Design Group to begin survey work on the site, several council members have questioned if using the relief funds for the capital project could land the town in hot water down the line.
The town office previously was relocated from 253 Steamboat Road to 4203 Irvington Road due to mold and weather damage, as well as to more easily comply with social distancing protocols… There's more to this story...
