Kilmarnock hires two part-time police officers

KILMARNOCK—Police Chief Cliff Dawson Sr. on December 21 announced the hiring of two new part-time police officers. The announcement came at the final Kilmarnock Town council meeting of 2020.

Allen Evans of Gloucester and Bill Farrell, an officer with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department, will join the force on a part-time basis, said Chief Dawson. Council in November decided to move forward in the hiring of additional staff.

In other action, council unanimously, 6-0, amended the fiscal year 2021 budget to include both rounds of CARES Act funding, totaling $123,676.63…
