Lancaster continues recognition of state basketball champions

KILMARNOCK—During the Lancaster school board’s regular meeting on Monday, April 17, members discussed preparations for additional recognition of the state champion boys basketball team—a parade and championship rings.

Lancaster High School principal Mary Catherine Jones invited the community to take part in recognizing the boys basketball team with an event organized by Carroll Lee Ashburn.

On Saturday, May 6, “the basketball players will meet at the Boys & Girls Club at 10:30 (a.m.), they’ll caravan though town, end up at Town (Centre) Park and Congressman Wittman will be there as part of the ceremony. He had done a resolution on the House floor for the basketball players and coaches and he will present certificates and a flag that was flown during those resolutions,” said Jones.
