LANCASTER—The Lancaster school board met briefly on Thursday, February 1, to continue work on the 2025 fiscal year school budget. The board agreed to put forth a 7% raise for division staff (5.5% plus 1.5% step for teachers) at an additional cost of $2.5 million in local funds compared to the current budget.
As previously discussed in a joint budget work session with the board of supervisors in January, superintendent Jessica Davis presented three options for pay increases: a starting teacher salary of $50,832 with a 5.5% increase plus 1.5% step for teachers and 7% for all other staff; a starting teacher salary of $49,822 with a 3.5% increase plus 1.5% step for teachers and 5% for all other staff; and a starting teacher salary of $48,932 with a 1.5% increase plus 1.5% step for teachers and 3% for all other staff.
