Lancaster High School athletes will gear up this week to play sports.
After nearly a year without sports, courtesy of the coronavirus pandemic, the school will participate in the Virginia High School League’s amended 2020-21 “championship+1” calendar, which has traditional fall sports teams playing now through mid April.
According to LHS athletic director Dave Zeiler, the decision to participate was made Monday, February 22. A parent meeting was scheduled for the next day and conditioning started February 24. The Red Devils’ opening varsity football game is scheduled for March 5 against Rappahannock.
Lancaster will participate in cross country, golf, and junior varsity and varsity volleyball. As of now, LHS is planning….
