KILMARNOCK—In a highly anticipated step, the Lancaster school board and the board of supervisors got the first glimpse of the future junior/senior high school to be built in Kilmarnock during a joint meeting on Monday, October 2.
The presentation by Bryce Powell of the architectural firm VMDO highlighted the goals of the project, namely a design that shared resources between schools, supported 21st century education and welcomed the community in. “Everything within the project was designed with education and community as part of the goal,” he said. “We know that there’s a major investment from the community side as well as facility needs on the school side. We’re always looking for the opportunities for co-benefit of the user groups.”
