Lancaster school superintendent Dan Russell recently announced Lancaster Primary School (LPS) has been awarded $120,000 from the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) program, which is administered through the Virginia Department of Education.
ESSA, which replaced the No Child Left Behind Act in 2015, is “designed to close achievement gaps, increase equity, improve the quality of instruction and increase outcomes for all students,” according to the U.S. Department of Education.
