Many local voters favored new election laws

KILMARNOCK—With this year’s election, voters had more options when it came to voting, with new laws allowing for early voting and expanded mail-in voting.

The General Assembly approved a 45-day voting window prior to Election Day 2020, and voters seemed to approve of the option. According to Lancaster registrar Susan Jett, 36% of the county’s registered voters took advantage and it was much the same in Northumberland, where county registrar Kathy Davenport reported 38% of registered voters cast…
