In the July 8 article on the Merry Point Solar and Storage project, it was reported Lancaster County would lose $191,057 in tax revenue with the recently approved ordinance on the valuation and taxation of forested land. That is a county-wide loss of revenue and not tied to a specific property.
In the same article, it was reported the county would receive $1,400 per MWac generated. Aaron Ruby, media representative for Dominion Energy, said the actual revenue sharing would start at $1,400 per MWac generated and stored. At 150 MWac, that would amount to $210,000 per year initially instead of $140,000.
