WHITE STONE—Drivers can expect lane closures and travel delays on the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge over the Rappahannock River in late September and October for a maintenance project to replace two bridge pins and for a scheduled bridge inspection.

Travelers can expect single-lane closures on Route 3 between Lancaster and Middlesex counties, weather permitting, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, September 24, and Saturday, September 29; and 7 p.m.-7 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, and Wednesday, October 3.
On September 24 and 29, traffic will be controlled by automated flagging devices, operated by a certified flagging crew.
During the overnight work zones on October 2 and October 3, traffic will be stopped at the bridge approaches and northbound and southbound traffic will alternate crossing the bridge led by a pilot vehicle, reported Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) communication manager Kelly Hannon.
