The Rappahannock Music Study Club has awarded 11 middle-schoolers grants of $500 each for intermediate-level cello, violin and viola lessons.
These talented young musicians have graduated from The Strings Crewe Suzuki-method course, and now form the vanguard of the String Orchestra for Northern Neck Youth (SONNY), reported Joan Blatterman. The awards go towards continued instrumental study with teachers Rebecca Ann Young, cello; Christina Totton, violin and viola; and Mei-Li Beane, violin.
