Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie said this week bones found in the White Stone area recently are not those of a human.
“We received a call about some bones found by a hunter or hunters and sent an investigator to follow up,” said Sheriff McCranie.
It was determined the bones are from an animal, he said.
Sheriff McCranie released the statement to dispel any rumors that were circulating.
