KILMARNOCK—The Northumberland County Lion’s Club celebrated its 65th anniversary April 25 at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club. Lions, supporters and spouses shared a reception and dinner.
The club’s many activities include providing vision testing to all students, with parent’s consent, reported secretary Frank J. Kober. The Northumberland club also donates hospital beds, wheelchairs and equipment to those in need.
Other activities include collecting funds outside businesses in the county during their twice yearly “White Cane Days.” These funds support the many charitable activities sponsored by the Lion’s Club, including the annual Peace Poster Contest and the Bland music competition for public school students, said Kober…
