Northumberland planning commission continues work on comprehensive plan

HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Planning Commission on Thursday, October 21, discussed potential changes to chapter two of the comprehensive plan which details the issues, goal and strategies of the plan.

“It’s basically a policy chapter of the comprehensive plan,” said county planner Stuart McKenzie. “It identifies issues, expresses the goals and the strategies, which is how the county plans to proceed in pursing the goals.”

While the commission took no formal action, there were sections of the chapter with suggested updates. Commission members Patrick O’Brien and Alfred Fisher Jr. suggested a language update to the section on groundwater supply and shallow wells.
