The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society’s (LVHS) Zooming In On Local History: Virtual Speaker Series II, will continue at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 22, with “The Courthouse Village and Court Day in Colonial Virginia,” by Dr. Carl Lounsbury.
An architectural historian and author of The Courthouses of Early Virginia, Lounsbury will discuss the buildings and activities of several of Virginia’s colonial courthouse towns, including Lancaster, and examine the role of court day in the public life of the community.
