St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church sponsored its 16th annual Oysters & Oldies Christmas Oyster Roast on Saturday, December 2, at Roanoke Farm in Heathsville.
The event raised $15,000 which will be awarded to various organizations, reported Ellen Kirby.
Some 400 guests polished off 42 bags of wild caught oysters provided by Purcell Seafood and roasted by host Mason Brent and his team. Some 35 gallons of homemade chili, grilled hot dogs, brownies and cookies rounded out the menu.
