Painting the Northern Neck in daffodils

Deborah Brooks of White Stone won several ribbons at the 2021 Gloucester Daffodil Show. She has also been busy distributing and planting some 9,000 bulbs from White Stone to Kinsale.

White Stone resident Deborah Brooks recently won several awards at The 2021 Gloucester Daffodil Show. The show, sanctioned by the American Daffodil Society, was presented in a virtual hybrid format March 26-28 at Gloucester’s Newington Baptist Church.  

Brooks earned 34 horticultural ribbons. In the photography section, her Daffodils and Animals entry scored first place. She won three additional photography awards: Daffodils in Quarantine, second; Abstract/Special Effects Celebrating Daffodils, second; and Daffodils with People, third.

Brooks, a member of the Rappahannock Garden Club (RGC) of White Stone, is also affiliated with Northern Neck Master Gardeners, Virginia Daffodil Society and Gloucester Daffodil Club.
