Lancaster’s run for the state tournament ended a game shy of an automatic berth Tuesday, May 31, on the Eastern Shore.
Emma Jackson drove in four runs on two doubles and a home run to lead Chincoteague over the Lady Devils, 9-1, in a Region 1A softball semifinal game. The winner of that game would have earned a berth in this week’s Class 1 state tournament.
Rappahannock went on to beat the Ponies, 5-4, in the regional championship game Thursday, June 2, for a home field advantage in the state quarterfinals. The Raiders were scheduled to host….
