RAL Art Center, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, will host an Art Talk program at 1 p.m. Monday, January 29.
The program will feature a slideshow with commentary on the winners of the Virginia Watercolor Society (VWS)’s 2017 38th annual exhibition held October 14 through January 7 at the Museum of Shenandoah Valley in Winchester.
The talk is free and open to the public.
Alongside this presentation is a special exhibit in RAL’s Nook Gallery of current RAL members whose works were juried into the 2017 Exhibit plus some earlier shows, reported communications team member Barbara Kershner. Featured artists from 2017 are Linda Lavigne-Long, whose piece won an Award of Distinction, Martha Anne King and Bob Haynes.
Earlier works by Haynes, one of which received an Award of Distinction, also will be represented. 2016 VWS exhibitors on display include Patty Richards, who received an Award of Merit, Sarah Soderlund, Mel Neale, Martha Anne King and Marge Alderson. Lella Lee Edwards generously provided an earlier piece for the exhibit as well.
