REEDVILLE—On Saturday, July 1, following the Reedville Independence Day Parade, a reception was held at American Legion Post 117 in Reedville for retired U.S. Army Col. Paris Davis.

Col. Davis, a recent Medal of Honor recipient, served as grand marshal of the parade.

Members of the Northern Neck Patriotic Piecers, the local branch of the Quilts of Valor Foundation (QOVF), presented him a Quilt of Valor for his service, reported Denise Munns. The reception was well attended by Legion Members, family and the community.

The Northern Neck Patriotic Piecers has 12 members who meet at 10 a.m. on third Fridays at American Legion Post 117, 39 School Street, Reedville. Stop by and join in the rewarding time of making quilts, said Munns. All skill levels welcome.
