Raiderettes and Lady Devils place first and second in Region A volleyball tourney

Rappahannock rolled through post-season play unscathed for the 2021 Region A volleyball championship on its home court Tuesday, November 9.

The Raiderettes received a quarterfinal forfeit from Colonial Beach then swept Northumberland, 3-0, in the semifinals and went on to shutout Lancaster, 3-0, in the tournament final. Rappahannock coach Kristin Patterson was named the region’s coach of the year.

The Lady Devils beat Northampton, 3-1, in a regional quarterfinal and battled for the championship berth with a 3-2 win over Chincoteague in the semifinals….
