RAL Studio Gallery windows offer a glimpse of local heritage

“At Rest” by Mel Neale, from a photo taken 30 years ago in Town Creek, off the western side of the Corrotoman River entrance, depicts an oyster house since abandoned, the watermen and their boats scattered elsewhere.

The RAL Studio Gallery, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, window artists for March depict a little history and local flavor.

Mel Neale is a prolific artist who works in a variety of media. A graduate of Mary Washington College, she taught art for 11 years in the public schools in Richmond.
