The annual Reedville Independence Day Celebration will again extend Fourth of July celebrations into the weekend, providing holiday activities and entertainment for kids and adults alike.

The celebration will take place July 7 and 8, and is hosted by the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum, 504 Main Street, Reedville, according to longtime organizer Danny Haynie.

Festivities will begin with the Firecracker 5K Fun Run/Walk at 8 a.m. July 7 at Festival Halle, 177 Main Street, Reedville.

The registration fee is $25 for adults and $10 for ages 11 and younger. Those interested in participating can register until 7:45 a.m. the morning of the race by visiting rfmuseum.org. Commemorative t-shirts are guaranteed to the first 300 registrants, but sizes are not guaranteed for walk-in registrations.

The race will be followed by a patriotic bake, T-shirt and hoodie sale at 9:30 a.m. at the Bethany United Methodist Church, next door to the museum…
