KILMARNOCK—The Lancaster school board on March 13 recommended the board of supervisors approve a proposed $16.3 million school budget for fiscal year 2018-19.
District 3 board member Joan Gravatt moved to approve the proposed budget and District 2 board member Kenya Moody seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously, 5-0, with support from District 1 board member Katherine Keith, chairman and District 3 board member Audrey Thomasson, District 5 board member Carolyn Young, Gravatt and Moody, reported school superintendent Steve Parker.
With the proposed budget, teachers would receive a 4.1% pay increase and other school employees would get a 3% increase, he said.
