WHITE STONE—What do tourists want, and does the Northern Neck offer it?
These questions were discussion topics during a public input session on tourism Monday, May 13, in White Stone. The discussion was led by Dr. Vince Magnini.
A professor of marketing at Virginia Tech and a specialist in hospitality and tourism management, Dr. Magnini is working with Northern Neck Tourism Council and the Northern Neck Planning District Commission (NNPDC) as part of a strategic planning effort to improve tourism in the Northern Neck.
According to Lisa Hull, economic development and tourism coordinator with NNPDC, the tourism commission is circulating a survey to “better understand the travel habits of visitors to the Northern Neck.” The survey, available on Northern Neck Tourism’s Facebook page, is limited to visitors to the Northern Neck over the past three years. Residents cannot take the survey. The survey is available online through May 21.
Dr. Magnini will interpret the results and make recommendations.
