A small but mighty flotilla raced in the first Cardboard Boat Regatta Saturday, September 6, on Cockrell Creek in Reedville.
Seven boats made of cardboard, duct tape and glue were launched, with the goal to round a nearby buoy and return to the dock. Some finished the course but some sank in the effort. Enthusiastic spectators and volunteers were on shore, on the launch dock and in several (real) boats.
The regatta was organized by the Northern Neck Wooden Boat School, co-founded by David Clark and Katie Wilkins. Boat builders were from….
