RICHMOND—Haynesville Correctional Center inmates who were sent to hospitals Saturday, June 15, as a result of suspected overdoses at the prison were all released by Wednesday, June 19.
However, one of the eight offenders, Steven L. Anderson, was pronounced dead at 8:32 p.m. Saturday, June 15, according to a media alert issued by Harold W. Clarke, director of the Virginia Department of Corrections. The overdoses were discovered around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
