Sheriff’s report 08-12-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felonies

David Marquette Green, 49, of Lancaster was charged August 2 with strangulation resulting in bodily injury, sexual battery, abduction by force, intimidation or deception, object sexual penetration by force or helpless, and malicious assault whereby the victim is severely injured.

Jahmekah Danielle Nickens, 22, of Weems was charged August 3 with the knowingly communicating in writing a threat to kill or do bodily injury which placed such person in reasonable apprehension of death or bodily injury.

Laura Wiggins Carter, 44, of Lancaster was charged August 3 with knowingly communicating in writing a threat to kill or do bodily injury which placed such person in reasonable apprehension of death or bodily injury.

Christopher Ryan Brooks, 34, of Kilmarnock was charged August 6 with strangulation resulting in bodily injury.

Misdemeanors

A White Stone man, 38, was charged August 2 with violating conditions of pretrial release.

A White Stone man, 45, was charged August 4 with violating conditions of pretrial release.

A Lancaster man, 52, was charged July 23 with appearing intoxicated in public.

A Lancaster man, 42, was charged August 6 with probation violation.

Activity report

August 2: Staff responded to the 14000 block of Windmill Point Road for several gunshots, to the 300 block of Carters Cove Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 100 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Newtown Road for the brandishing of a firearm toward a person, and to the 300 block of Cherry Point Drive for the report of a sudden death.

August 3: Staff responded to the 12900 block of River Road for a burglary, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 100 block of Whispering Pines Road for a downed tree and power lines in the roadway, to a walk-in report of a fraud that occurred at the 200 block of Lancaster Creek Drive, and to River and White Hall roads for a reckless driver.

August 4: Staff responded to the 3400 block of Lara Road for a suspicious person, and to Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads for a reckless driver.

August 5: Staff responded to stalking and trespassing that occurred at the 2100 block of Morattico Road, to Mary Ball and Goodluck roads for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of Clark Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 300 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol, and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disabled vehicle.

August 6: Staff responded to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a disorderly person, to Greentown Road for a reckless driver, to Saltwater Drive for go carts and mini bikes on the roadway, and to the 100 block of Oyster Point for a suspicious vehicle.

August 7: Staff responded to Alphonso and Lara roads for several gunshots in the early morning hours, to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Devils Bottom Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to Taylors Creek Road for a downed tree blocking the roadway, to the 1200 block of Goodluck Road for a downed tree in the roadway, and to the 100 block of Peach Tree Lane for a verbal disagreement.

August 8: Staff responded to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road to assist emergency medical services with a patient having seizures, and to the 100 block of King Carter Drive for several gunshots in the late evening hours.

Staff also conducted seven traffic stops, issued two summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled two calls for traffic control, investigated six building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received 11 E911 hang-up calls and fielded four requests for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a tree and power lines down on Whispering Pines Road, a fire/smoke alarm on Queenstown Road and a traffic crash on Devils Bottom Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a possible vehicle fire on Rappahannock Drive, a brush fire on Blue Heron Lane and with Kilmarnock VFD to a fire/smoke alarm on Tower Point lane.

Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road and a downed tree and power lines on Third Avenue.
