Sheriff’s Report 1-24-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.

Felonies

Brian Lee Brooks, 35, of Saluda was charged January 14 with the violations of burglary; entering a house to commit larceny or assault, petit larceny, destruction of property, entering property to damage.

Christopher Ryan Brooks, 30, of Lancaster was charged January 15 with felony probation violation.

Misdemeanor

A Lancaster man, 28, was charged January 16 with contempt of court: failure to appear.

Activity report

January 14: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Ocran roads for an abandoned vehicle, to the 100 block of Blue Jay Lane for the report of a suspicious possibly drunk person, to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for panhandling to purchase gas, to the 100 block of Greenvale Creek Road for a forged or counterfeit check, and to the 600 block of Benson Road for a burglary and violation of a protective order.

January 15: Staff responded to the 300 block of Ocran Road to assist emergency management services with a medical patient unable to unlock the residence, to the 100 block of Primary School Circle for an assault by juveniles, to the 100 block of Weems Road for a counterfeit check and fraud, and to the 300 block of Mosquito Point Road for the unauthorized use of an automobile.

January 16: Staff responded to the 100 block of East Bay Drive for a trespasser, to the 700 block of Millenbeck Road for a burglary, to the 100 block of Ronnoc Way for the report of a burglary and larceny of a generator, to the 100 block of Harris Road for threats made toward another, and to the 2300 block of Windmill Point Road for the report of suspicious activity.

January 17: Staff responded to the 300 block of Pinckardsville Road to check the welfare of an elderly person after receiving a report from a family member, to the 1800 block of Laurel Point Road for the reported larceny of several signs, and to the 300 block of Weems Road for a domestic fight in progress.

January 18: Staff responded to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for disorderly person, to Alphonso Road for the report of a minor two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of School Street for a hit-and-run traffic crash, to the 300 block of Weems Road for violation of a protective order, and to the 900 block of Black Stump Road to investigate an unattended death.

January 19: Staff responded to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department with a fight in progress, to a walk-in report of disorderly conduct by a male juvenile, to the 100 block of Holly Haven Road for a domestic disturbance, to South Main Street and New South Road for an intoxicated female lying in the ditch, to the 100 block of Myway Lane for gun shots, and to the 500 block of Goodluck Road for the report of a domestic disturbance.

January 20: Staff assisted the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle pursuit that ended with a traffic crash.

Staff also conducted 13 traffic stops, issued six summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated eight building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received four E911 hang-up calls and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to fire/smoke alarms on Cobbs Hall Lane and two on North Main Street.

EMS calls

For January 13-19, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 38 calls for service, including 21 medical emergencies, six injuries, a fire and 10 other calls.
