Sheriff’s Report 11-01-18

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against four individuals.

A Hartfield man, 62, was charged October 23 with appearing intoxicated in public.

A Fox Hill Drive woman, 36, was charged October 25 with contempt of court-fail to appear.

A Kinsale man, 35, was charged October 28 with failing to appear in court.

A Providence Forge woman, 37, was charged October 28 with profanely curse or swear in public.

Activity report

Oct. 22: Staff responded to the 300 block of Johns Neck Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of School Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a disorderly juvenile, to Mary Ball and Courthouse roads for a reckless driver, to the 200 block of Steamboat Road for theft of a hand crafted wooden sign, to White Stone for a reckless driver, to a walk-in report of forging a government document, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with disorderly conduct, to the 10400 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for vandalism of a vehicle, and to a walk-in report of a disorderly person.

Oct. 23: Staff responded to a walk-in report of a burglary and brandishing of a firearm, to a walk-in report of a violation of a protective order, to the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road for vandalism of a building, and to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for the report of a disorderly and intoxicated person.

Oct. 24: Staff responded to the 100 block of Jones Drive for a domestic assault, and to the 7200 block of River Road for an overdose of drugs by a female.

Oct. 25: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Harris Drive for a burglary, to the Lively for a reckless driver, to a walk-in report of credit card fraud and larceny, and to James Wharf Road for a suspicious vehicle.

Oct. 26: Staff responded to the 700 block of Bay Water Drive for trespassers.

Oct. 27: Staff responded to the 20500 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to Ottoman Ferry Road for a report of fireworks.

Oct. 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of Chase Street to assist KPD with an assault, and to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for suspicious activity.

Staff also conducted 16 traffic stops, issued 12 summonses, assisted seven motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, fielded five calls for traffic control, investigated nine building alarms, logged four inmate transports, received 12 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded five calls for animal control services.

Lancaster fire calls

The Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a trash fire on River Road.

The Kilmarnock VFD responded to a tree on the power lines on Yankee Point Road and with the White Stone VFD to a residential smell of smoke on Kent Point Road.

Lancaster EMS calls

For October 21-27, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 44 calls for service including 25 medical emergencies, three injuries, two traffic accidents, a fire and 13 other calls.

Northumberland fire calls

For October 22-28, the Callao VFD responded to five calls, including three motor vehicle crashes, a gas tank leak and a medical emergency.

The Fairfields VFD responded to eight calls, including three motor vehicle crashes, two medical emergencies, a fire, a fire alarm and a controlled burn.

Northumberland EMS calls

For October 22-28, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 37 calls, including 22 medical emergencies, seven falls/trauma, six motor vehicle crashes and two standbys. Two calls resulted in the patient being flown by helicopter to the hospital.
