Sheriffs’ Reports 04-06-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against four individuals.

A Lancaster man, 58, was charged March 27 with failure to abide by the conditions of the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program.

A Lancaster man, 31, was charged March 27 and April 4 with two counts of trespassing after being forbidden to do so by an authorized individual.

A Lancaster man, 28, was charged March 28 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Haymarket man, 61, was charged March 30 with driving while intoxicated.

Activity report

March 27: Staff responded to Kamps Mill Road for illegal dumping, to the 1800 block of Morattico Road for a wanted person, to the 1900 block of Knights Run Road to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to Mary Ball and Old Orchard roads for a domestic dispute.

March 28: Staff responded to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for child abuse/neglect, to the 100 block of Marina Road for identity theft and larceny of funds, to the 300 block of Peake Road for a trespasser, Mary Ball Road between White Stone and Kilmarnock for a reckless driver, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for domestic assault of a juvenile, to the 6100 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads for suspicious activity.

March 29: Staff responded to the 11100 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Quarters Cove Drive for a suspicious person, to River and Western Branch roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Wishing Well Lane for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol.

March 30: Staff responded to a walk-in report of the unauthorized use of a vehicle that occurred at the 100 block of Daniel Drive, to the 16000 block of Mary Ball Road to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a three-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 400 block of Pine Reach Drive for a suspicious vehicle.

March 31: Staff responded to the 600 block of Blackstump Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Windstead Drive for a suspicious vehicle, to the 100 block of Smith Lane for a trespasser, to Edgewood Lane for a noise violation from loud music, to the 3700 block of Lara Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a downed tree, and to Courthouse and Miskimon roads for a power pole down in the highway.

April 1: Staff responded to Mosquito Point and Corner View roads for gunshots in the area, to a walk-in report of a trespasser at the 700 block of River Road, to the 100 block of Chase Street to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Christ Church Road for a utility pole down in the roadway and on fire, and to the 100 block of First Street for a domestic disturbance.

April 2: Staff responded to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for suspicious activity, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for a domestic disturbance and to the 100 block of Pohickory Lane for a sudden death.

Staff also conducted 13 traffic stops, issued nine summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled 10 calls for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, transported three inmates, received 26 E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Kent Cove Road, a traffic crash on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway, a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road, a carbon monoxide alarm on Hatton Avenue, and with White Stone VFD to a structure fire on Blueberry Point Road.

White Stone VFD also responded to a vehicle fire on King Carter Drive, a utility pole down on Christ Church Road and an outbuilding structure fire on Farriers Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on River Road, fire/smoke on Lewistown Road, a traffic crash on Lara Road and a utility pole down at Courthouse and Miskimon roads.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 18 individuals.

Felonies

Robert Preston McKenney, 66, of Hague was charged March 20 with grand larceny from Callao Moose Lodge. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.

Jennifer L. Belfield, 39, of Virginia Beach was charged March 22 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court to show cause why her suspended time should not be revoked on original charges of forgery and probation violations. She was served by the Suffolk Police Department.

Deondre Ta-Von Lampkin, no age given, was charged March 23 with stealing a laptop from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Douglas Edward Spears, 56, of Lorton was charged March 23 with felony breaking and entering and petit larceny.

Lakeya Monae Thornton, 38, of Reedville was charged March 27 with two felony counts of threaten in writing and one misdemeanor charge of assault and battery. She also was charged with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for violating her pre-trial stipulations by failing drug screen tests and failing to comply with treatment.

Dakota Anastasio Gaives, 27, of Reedville was charged March 27 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for a probation violation. He was also charged with a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant for Northumberland County General District Court for not coming to court and reporting counsel.

Anthony Lamont Bailey, 36, of Callao was charged March 27 with two felony counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, assault and battery of a family member and obstruction of justice. He also was charged with damaging property.

Dana Sumner Carter, 34, of Heathsville was charged March 28 with felony embezzlement for monies/food/merchandise taken from Fast Mart. He also was charged with stealing and or converting lottery tickets. These were Lancaster County warrants served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Eric Englander, 58, of Reedville was charged April 1 with two felony charges of assault on a law enforcement officer and one misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 50, on March 16 was served a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear in their court for child support.

A Reedville man, no age given, was charged March 18 on a summons issued by Chesterfield County for causing a telephone/pager to ring to annoy.

A Reedville man, 30, was charged March 20 on a capias/attachment of the body for failing to enroll in the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense.

A Heathsville man, 45, was charged March 20 with two counts of violating a protective order. These were Northumberland County charges served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

A Reedville man, 29, was charged March 21 with disorderly conduct in a public place.

A Reedville woman, 64, was charged March 24 with 58 misdemeanor warrants for animal cruelty and one summons was issued for animal dealer/pet shop with inadequate care.

A Heathsville man, 25, was charged March 26 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Reedville woman, 38, was charged March 27 with 10 summons for false calling with intent to harass.

A Clarksville, Tenn. man, 26, was charged March 28 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense.
