Sheriffs’ Reports 07-16-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Keith Robert Robinson, 29, of Kilmarnock was charged July 12 with two counts of intent to distribute a Schedule I or II narcotic.

Deborah Pope Roach, 66, of Kilmarnock was charged July 10 with destruction of property valued at over $1,000 and assault. She also was charged July 11 with misdemeanors resisting arrest/obstructing justice and disorderly conduct.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 35, was charged July 7 with assault.

A White Stone woman, 36, was charged July 10 with assault.

A Weems man, 46, was charged July 12 with assault and battery of a family member and destruction of property valued at less than $1,000.

A Heathsville man, 54, was charged July 12 with two counts of violating a protective order.

Activity report

July 6: Staff responded to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a disorderly and intoxicated person, to White Stone on Mary Ball Road for debris falling off of a pickup, to River and Ottoman Ferry roads for a suspicious vehicle, to the 100 block of Purcell Drive to assist KPD with a possible burglary in progress, and to the 200 block of Kathy Drive for a burglary.

July 7: Staff responded to the 100 block of Pine Drive for a possible domestic disturbance, to the 2100 block of River Road to check the welfare of the resident after being alerted by a family member that resulted in an unattended death, and to the 1700 block of Weems Road for a larceny.

July 8: Staff responded to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for a stolen golf cart, to the 100 block of Shady Lane for an attempted assault, to the 1000 block of Johns Neck Road for trespassers, to the 19000 block of Mary Ball Road for  a two-vehicle traffic crash with serious injuries, to the 100 block of Weems Road for gunshots in the area, and to the 400 block of Kinlock Avenue for an assault.

July 9: Staff responded to Weems Road for a large amount of debris in the roadway, and to the 2400 block of Merry Point Road for the report of a two-vehicle traffic crash.

July 10: Staff responded to the 1000 block of White Chapel Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Sandlin Drive for a domestic disturbance, to the 300 block of Cedar Pointe Drive for a medical issue-dementia patient, to the 100 block of Willow Hill Road for a domestic assault with weapons, and to the 1400 block of Windmill Point Road for a larceny.

July 11: Staff responded to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for a noise violation due to loud music, to the 100 block of Browns Store Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Rose Drive for vandalism of a vehicle windshield, and to 100 block of Washington Street for domestic assault involving alcohol.

July 12: Staff responded to White Stone on Mary Ball Road for a person who may have overdosed on medications, to Lancaster Courthouse on Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 900 block of Beanes Road to assist NCSO with threats made with a firearm, and to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a fight in progress.

Staff also conducted seven traffic stops, issued two summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded four deer strike accidents, investigated eight building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged two inmate transports, received 33 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded five calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The White Stone Volunteer Fire department responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road; separate fire/smoke alarm calls on Lee Lane, Irvington Road and McSwain Road; to the smell of propane gas on Tom Morris Drive; and a brush fire on Methodist Church Road.

The Kilmarnock VFD responded to a traffic crash on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway.

The Upper Lancaster VFD assisted emergency medical services on Ottoman Ferry Road.

EMS calls

For July 5-11, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 45 calls, including 32 medical emergencies, four injuries, three traffic accidents, five fires and one other call.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported felony charges against five individuals.

Juan DeDios Espinoza (no age or address given) was charged July 6 with felony abduction and strangulation. He also was charged with assault and battery of a family member. These were Northumberland County warrants served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).

Lisa Marceila White, 38, of Hague was charged July 6 with shoplifting, third plus offense. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the WCSO.

Jeffrey Jerome Gitlis, 60, of Annandale was charged July 6 with grand larceny.

Kristen Maxine King, 23, of Callao was charged July 7 with felony grand larceny and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. She also was charged with misdemeanor damaging property, brandishing a firearm and assault and battery. These were Essex County warrants served by the NCSO.

Jason Owen Denton, 36, of Callao was charged July 9 with malicious wounding and malicious assault with injuries. These were Westmoreland County warrants served by the NCSO.
