Sheriffs’ Reports 11-25-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against seven individuals.

Felonies

Thomas Harvey Samuels III, 30, of Reedville was charged November 18 with two counts of sexual assault of a child between ages 13-14, three counts of carnal knowledge of a child ages 13-14 without force, and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Kevon Lee Gray, 34, of Weems, was charged November 19 with possession with intent to distribute more that marijuana more than ½ ounce to 5 pounds and trespassing after being forbidden to do so.

Keith Lionel Beane Jr., 20, of Lancaster, was charged November 20 with knowingly and intentionally possessing or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.

Centrix Brandell Palmer, 31, of Kilmarnock was charged November 22 with two counts for selling/providing for sale Schedule I/II narcotic.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 35, was charged November 19 with violating a community-based probation on a felony offense.

A Kilmarnock woman, 74, was charged November 20 with four counts of presenting a worthless check knowing there were insufficient funds in the account.

A Lancaster, man, 21, was charged November 20 with violating a provision of a family abuse protective order.

Activity report

Nov. 16: Staff responded to the 100 block of Lloyd Lane for money obtained by false pretenses, to the 900 block of Beanes Road for firing at an occupied residence from a passing vehicle, and the 100 block of Lancaster Drive for identity theft.

Nov. 17: Staff responded to the 100 block of Mosquito Point Road for vandalism to property, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to Merry Point Road for a utility shed that fell off a trailer into the roadway, to the 600 block of Paynes Creek Road for a noise violation from loud music, and to the 100 block of Saltwater Drive to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a friend.

Nov. 18: Staff responded to the 300 block of Grand Villa Drive to check the welfare of the resident after being alerted by a neighbor, to vandalism of a mailbox that occurred at the 2100 block of Morattico Road, and Mary Ball and Chases roads to assist Virginia State Police with a vehicle search.

Nov. 19: Staff responded to the 400 block of Chesapeake Drive for a larceny, to the 100 block of Greentown Road for trespassing and threats made toward another, to the Norris Bridge for building materials in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 3500 block of Lara Road for an open door at an unoccupied residence, and to Kilmarnock on Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver.

Nov. 20: Staff responded to the 12200 block of Mary Ball Road for a drive-by shooting of a vehicle, to Lara and Field Trial Roads for the report of a single vehicle traffic crash; responded to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for the report of a fight in progress involving 6 people; responded to the 100 block of Crystal Lane for the report of a domestic assault; responded to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for the report of a violation of a protective order.

Nov. 21: Staff responded to the 100 block of Peake Road for gunshots, to the 100 block of Sandlin Drive for a suicidal person, to the 300 block of Old Ferry Road for trespassers, and to the 100 block of Harris Road for a suicidal person.

Nov. 22: Staff responded to the 200 block of James Lane for a noise violation from loud music, and to the 100 block of Berkeley Forest Road for a possible burglary.

Staff also conducted 21 traffic stops, issued 17 summonses, assisted seven motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled two calls for traffic control, investigated eight building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged five inmate transports, received 28 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire department responded to Beanes Road for smell of smoke in a residence and to Lara and Field Trial roads for a traffic crash.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to Bluffield Lane for a fire/smoke alarm.
