HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland board of supervisors on December 18 reviewed architectural plans to renovate the former EVB bank building at 6958 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, into county offices.
The board considered several options, provided by Evolve Architecture, on which departments could be moved to the former bank building and what renovations would be required.
The board hired Evolve Architecture in March 2017 to conduct space programming and planning analysis to determine how much space the various county offices need and how the space they currently use can be utilized more efficiently, according to county administrator Luttrell Tadlock.
The proposals which the board considered included one to move the offices of the Commissioner of the Revenue, the Treasurer and voter registrar to the renovated building. The board also discussed the possibility of relocating the school board office, either to the bank building, the Old Courthouse at 72 Monument Place, Heathsville, or constructing a new facility closer to the schools on Academic Lane, also in Heathsville….
