KILMARNOCK—The Lancaster by the Bay Chamber of Commerce recently announced the selection of Jeff Syzperski as the 2018 Business Person of the Year.
Syzperski was nominated by his business peers with overwhelming support, reported executive director Anne Paparella.
“The nominations for Jeff spoke highly of his business leadership attributes as well as the countless hours and commitment he has given towards our community,” said Paparella.
The award presentation will be held at the Chamber’s annual meeting and dinner at 5:30 p.m. February 3, at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club, 362 Club Drive, Kilmarnock.
Syzperski is the chief executive officer and chairman of Chesapeake Financial Shares as well as chief executive officer of Chesapeake Bank. His impact on this community resonated with all of his peers who supported and nominated him for the honor, said Paparella. Additionally, his support of local businesses and his leadership has sought to bring economic development to Lancaster County.
As founding director of Lead Northern Neck, he has assured that numerous other business leaders would continue to bring the community forward, she said. Syzperski is noted for his ability to relate to all people from all walks of life.
“The Chamber wishes to thank Jeff for his efforts and leadership and convey their appreciation for keeping our community viable and headed toward the future,” said Paparella.
“The Lancaster by the Bay Chamber of Commerce strives to promote the economic vitality of its members, encourage economic development, and enhance the quality of life in the community within which we live,” she said.
